  • Swing Trade Idea – December 30, 2022

    • Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) – The 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will kick off next week. Long-time keynote speaker, Lisa Su, AMD’s CEO, will present on Wednesday, January 4 around 6:30 p.m. Su’s CES keynote has caused shares of AMD to be volatile in years past.
    • AT&T (T) – A play on an upcoming company presentation at Citi’s Communications, Media & Entertainment Conference on Wednesday of next week. AT&T execs have been known to give company updates and guidance on events like the Citi conference next week.
    • TransDigm (TDG) – A favorite of analysts at Morgan Stanley heading into 2023. In a research note Friday morning, Morgan Stanley analysts noted TransDigm “emerged stronger and more profitable” following the COVID pandemic and heading into next year.
    • Kala Pharmaceuticals (KALA) – This week’s momentum du jour play continued higher Friday morning. The stock started this week off under $5. On Tuesday morning, shares began rallying following news the FDA accepted an investigational new drug application for the company’s persistent corneal epithelial defect treatment candidate. Since Tuesday, shares continued rallying amid momentum brought on by the fact the issue has a very small float and relatively high short interest for a biotech penny stock. The stock traded around $36 Friday morning.
    • TG Therapeutics (TGTX) – Shares rallied Wednesday and Thursday of this week following FDA approval of the company’s multiple sclerosis treatment. While several analysts over this week maintained bullish recommendations and raised price targets on TG Therapeutics, analysts at Goldman Sachs and Bank of America maintained the equivalent of sell ratings.
