  • Swing Trade Idea – December 12, 2022

    • Microsoft (MSFT) – The company purchased a 4% stake in the London Stock Exchange over the weekend. In a nearly $3 billion deal, Microsoft and the LSE also formed a 10-year partnership for Microsoft’s Cloud segment to build data infrastructure for the LSE.
    • Disney (DIS) – A play on favorable commentary by analysts at Morgan Stanley. The firm said Bob Iger’s return “offers the opportunity to reorganize Disney’s Media businesses to prioritize driving overall Disney consolidated earnings growth.” The Morgan Stanley analysts were also optimistic on Disney’s Parks segment.
    • Amgen (AMGN) – Shares were down about 2% in pre-market action following news of a nearly $30 billion deal by Amgen to buy Horizon Therapeutics (HZNP). Horizon shares were up about 15% on the news.
    • Lilium (LILM) – A play on the electric vehicle take off and landing jet space. Analysts at Raymond James Monday morning were optimistic on the niche Lilium occupies but noted the company still has some uncertainties about its cash position.
    • Adamas One (JEWL) – An initial public offering (IPO) from Friday. After the stock priced at $4.55 per share on Friday, shares traded over $5 Monday morning. The company is a producer of high-quality lab-grown diamonds. The issue is a low-float name with about 7 million shares in its float.
