Moderna (MRNA) – A play on a potential increase in COVID and flu cases during the fall and winter months. A feature story on the Wall Street Journal Friday morning highlighted “Moderna Covid-19 Booster Shortage Leads to Fewer Appointments at Pharmacies.”
Micron (MU) – A play on upcoming earnings out of this company in the memory chip space. Micron will report quarterly results on Thursday of next week.
Snow Lake Resources (LITM) – A play on lithium. Shares were up about 15% Friday morning following news the company will collaborate with an LG unit to form a North American supply chain for lithium.
Taoping (TAOP) – A China-based, US-traded penny-stock momentum play. Shares were up about 17% Friday morning; the Benzinga Pro newsdesk team did not see news to justify the move higher. The issue is a low-float name with about 11 million shares in its float.
Sonendo (SONX) – An example of when stocks can go up following a financing news item. Shares were up more than 40% following news of a $63 million private placement.
