Seagate Technologies (STX) – A play on the computer memory space. Shares of peer in the memory group, Western Digital (WDC), were up 10% following a call from shareholder Elliott Investment Mgmt. for Western Digital to separate its Flash unit. Seagate and the other main peer in the group, Micron (MU), were indicated higher in pre-market action following the Western Digital news.
ArcelorMittal (MT) – A major European player in the steel sector. A report Tuesday morning suggested the Russian army attacked a large steel and iron plant in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol.
Stratasys (SSYS) – A play on 3D printing. The company unveiled Monday “the industry’s first 3D printer designed specifically for printing direct-to-textile” for the fashion and apparel design industry.
Bright Light Acquisition Corp. IV (BLTS) – A play on the special purpose acquisition corporation (SPAC) merger partner for male grooming and hygiene company, MANSCAPED.
Innodata (INOD) – A low-float momentum play over the last several weeks. On Monday, shares moved over a minor resistance level at $7.50 and continued higher to close above the $8 level. The stock was up another couple percent Tuesday morning. The issue has around 25 million shares in its float.
