Daily Stock Ideas – August 30, 2021

- Moderna (MRNA) – Shares were down 2% Monday following weekend news Japan’s Health Ministry said it will investigate the deaths of two men who received a COVID-19 vaccine shot. The Health Ministry said the shots the men received were from a batch later removed due to contamination concerns.
- Affirm Holdings (AFRM) – The stock was up more than 50% Monday morning amid late-Friday news the company will partner with Amazon (AMZN). The partnership will allow Amazon customers to purchase items with an installment plan.
- Merck (MRK) – The FDA is scheduled to rule on the company’s regulatory application for Keytruda-Lenvima combination as a treatment option for patients with advanced endometrial carcinoma. The decision is expected by Friday.
- Vinco Ventures (BBIG) – Shares continued to rally sharply Monday morning following a few-hundred percent move higher on Friday of last week. Amid some trader confusion about the company’s float size, Benzinga received a comment from Vinco Friday that its stocks float is around 40 million shares.
- Globalstar (GSAT) – The stock traded higher following a note sent out by an Apple (AAPL) analyst suggesting Apple could partner with Globalstar on bringing low-earth-orbit satellite communications functionality in the iPhone 13.
