Daily Stock Ideas – February 17, 2021
Today’s 5 Stock Ideas:
- Verizon (VZ) – Shares were up 4% ahead of the open following news Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway took a new 146.7 million share stake in Verizon.
- Palantir Technologies (PLTR) – Cathie Wood of ARK Invest purchased about 1.5 million shares in Palantir on Tuesday, or about a $42 million purchase. One of her last purchases in the stock was on Jan. 14, when she purchased about 500,000 shares, or about $12.5 million in market value.
- DoorDash (DASH) – Hedge funds Tiger Global and Third Point (run by manager Dan Loeb) showed new stakes in DoorDash as of last quarter, which ended Dec. 31, 2020.
- Comstock Mining (LODE) – Wednesday morning’s big winner, up about 260%. The price action followed news the company secured a majority interest in a lithium-ion battery recycling company. Comstock plans to process 10,000 tons of lithium-ion per year into 99.9% pure lithium-ion cathodes for clean energy usage.
- Ebang (EBON) – The stock was up about 20% in pre-market action following a company press release that highlighted the launch of its bitcoin mining business.
